In a virtual interview with Extra TV back in June 2020, “Dancing With the Stars” judge Bruno Tonioli revealed that he’d love to see the Duchess of Sussex compete on the show. “[Meghan Markle would] be great,” he said via YouTube. “It’d make her look accessible and funny — it’d be brilliant. Meghan, if you’re watching this, please! We’d love you to do it,” He continued. Bruno pointed out that Meghan had moved to the California area just months before the interview took place, so it wouldn’t be impossible for her to do the show — if she wanted to. “She’s here now,” Bruno said.
It’s not known if Meghan is a big fan of the show but we do know that Prince Harry is very familiar with the UK version. In November 2020, Harry made a virtual appearance on BBC’s “Strictly Come Dancing” to surprise his friend, JJ Chalmers, who was competing at the time, according to People magazine. The report indicates that JJ had suffered very serious injuries while serving in Afghanistan with the Royal Marines. JJ offered to take part in the Invictus Games that Harry started in 2014.
Although Harry didn’t dance on the show, he made sure to tease JJ for his “tight blue shorts” — and he had nothing but wonderful things to say about the incredible journey that JJ has been on.
